Melding the best of ‘80s rock with modern technique and delivery, Exothermic Reaction brings the power when it comes to rock ‘n’ roll magic. Blending the best of the past with a myriad of key nuances and powerful melodic mojo of the present, Exothermic Reaction takes no prisoners when it comes to real rock delivery. Think Fuel mixed with Queen, AC/DC, the White Stripes, and Bad Company, and that might sum up the direction of Exothermic Reaction. This is a band that doesn’t shy away from experimenting and delivering talented compositional skills and instrumentation.

The Asbury Park Music & Film Festival is unlike any other event of its kind in that it explores and celebrates a single, and perhaps the most dramatic, aspect of cinema—the role of music in film.

Shoreworld: The Songwriters Circle at the Strand Theater

The Strand Theater in Lakewood has been churning out quality shows and events for several years now. I’ve seen many up-and-coming artists as well as bonafide stars there and have never had a bad time. From the theater’s construction—which gives every seat a perfect view—to the bar and diverse crowd it attracts, I can safely say that the Strand is one of New Jersey’s most beautiful venues for live music. In 1922, during Lakewood’s heyday as a resort, world-renowned theater architect Thomas W. Lamb designed and supervised construction of the Strand Theater. The Strand was built to exacting standards of …

Got songs? Got harmonies? Got fun and unbridled enthusiasm? Then you’ve got The Wag! Hailing from the Bayshore area of New Jersey, this four-piece unit has been entertaining and moving audiences for over 20 years but still sounds as fresh as it did on day one! With four alternating lead vocalists, catchy melodies, and sophisticated harmonies, they will take you on a journey of pop-rock delight! I especially love the Star Trek: The Next Generation castmate take on the band. “If the Beatles and the Cowsills got it on backstage at Ed Sullivan, The Wag would totally be their love …

Shoreworld — Golden Dimes: ‘Uncommon Sense’

I’ve known Jason Spiewak for many years. At one time he was working for TVT Records and then over at Rock Ridge Music as its president. He is also head of Noble Steed music (and JLS Management), which has produced and managed artists such as Gene Harding, Brian Dunn, Sariah, Mele Kalikimaka, Constantine Maroulis, and others. The one thing about Jason that I always know is that whatever he puts his mind to gets put into the visual field of number one, and he continues that with Golden Dimes, a band that he now actually plays in.

Shoreworld: Terry Reid, Deborah Bonham, and the Matt O’Ree Band Take to the Wonder Bar

Terry Reid is a name that needs little introduction. As the now-famous utterance from Aretha Franklin stated, “There are only three things happening in England: The Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and Terry Reid.” That’s a pretty potent statement and not one to be taken lightly. Superlungs, as he’s affectionately called, is one of the greatest rock ‘n’ soul voices that the other side of the pond has ever offered the musical public at large. As is often said, a Terry Reid concert should be a cherished memory for any self-respecting fan of the greats of British music, and now you …
